This new topic is a continuation of a previous post and discussion of Altec high efficency horn speakers and the very fast, very flat Transcendent Sound single-ended triode OTL amplifier.
SEE: Lansing Heritage Project Speaker and Challenge
Transcendent sound single ended OTL amplifier link:

I've hooked-up the new amp in various ways, bi-amped and A/B'ed with stock passive crossed over A-7's....Driving a pair of 288's with the two bass signals crossed over by another Rane AC-22 and driven by another amplifier...Putting the Rane after the amp, tweeking frequencies, time delay, etc.
Bi-amping is great and works well with just about every style of amplifier and Altec speakers. However, this particular amplifier sounds just as good as a biamp'ed speaker with (a single) Rane AC-22 crossover after the amp.
The resulting power, transient response and musicality was just as good with only one amp and one active crossover per stereo pair of speakers.
Further, the Rane AC-22 has an equalization modification (for use with CD Horns) involving adding a capacitor.
This modified crossover into a pair of 16 ohm A-7's is enough to make anyone weep with joy. Voices are nuanced, piano notes decay and I am literally there ...at the performance.
Golly!!!
